By · Comments
We consistently hear from our customers with positive testimonials - and we know that’s unique in the automotive repair world! We love our customers and appreciate the opportunity to serve them (read hundreds of reviews about Jeffrey’s automotive all in one place).
One of our recent female customers wrote this about one of our service writers:
“Jerry helped me, and saved me a ton of cash. my last mechanic told me that I would have to replace the whole steering system on my Audi. Jerry checked everything and told me that I just needed an alignment and some power steering fluid. Thanks! Jerry saved me THOUSANDS!“
We acknowledge that car repairs can sometimes be costly, but it sure is fun to help our customers actually save money!

While this past weekend finally started feeling a little like winter, March is right around the corner. Just think: in a few weeks, it will be time for Spring Break. It’ll be time to get your vehicle ready for Spring!
So a lot of our customers want to know if they should get their brakes checked before heading out on that Spring Break road trip.
Ask yourself these questions:
- How long has it been since your brake fluid has been checked? We usually recommend an annual inspection.
- Do you know the braking system should be flushed and the fluid replaced periodically?
- Have you seen the brake warning light on?
- Do you hear continuous squealing or grinding ?
Be car care aware and let us inspect your brakes this week – Spring Break is just a little over 3 weeks away!
You car deserves a break too, a “brake check”!

How many people keep a detailed history of every oil change, brake service, or transmission flush you’ve ever done on your car? Especially if you are a multi-vehicle family, it becomes very difficult to remember what you have done, when you had it done last, and how much you paid last time. And keeping track of all of your vehicle’s repair paperwork can be an organizational nightmare!
When choosing your mechanic, how well does the auto repair shop keep histories on their customers’ vehicles? This is a good question to ask.
At Jeffrey’s Automotive, we employ an in-house, electronic shop management system to ensure an accurate service history of your vehicle.
Benefits for you:
- you don’t have to keep up with receipts from previous repairs and remember to bring them with you each time. We’ll pull up that specific vehicle on your account and we can tell you everything we have ever done on your car.
- even if you misplaced the estimate on your brake repair service from a week ago, you can bring your vehicle in when you are ready for that road trip and we’ll have the saved estimate in our computers – no surprises!
- with some repair shops that keep all their hand-written tickets in a box in the back shop, it could take a long time for the service writer to find out your vehicle history. With just a single click, we can tell you when your last alignment or oil change was done.
- in the event you are wanting to sell your car, we can provide you a printed sequential history of maintenance work and repairs done on your vehicle,
- we can also reprint you a copy of the invoice if needed.

We are launching a new series called “Car Care Question” – where we answer some of the basic car care questions we hear from customers in our shop or on our Facebook page.
Today, we are talking brakes. Specifically, the brake check.
Most dealerships charge up to $40 just for an routine inspection of your brakes.
One popular chain store offers a free brake check with the following conditions:
- It’s free ONLY if you subsequently have to make repairs to your brake system
- Or you are REQUIRED to be a member of their rewards program
At Jeffrey’s, your brake check is FREE. No strings. No conditions.
It’s important to check the vehicle’s braking system at least once a year. A thorough inspection should include brake lining wear, brake fluid level, rotor thickness, condition of hoses and brake lines, brake and dash warning lights, as well as taking the car for a test drive to detect other potential brake system problems. If you hear grinding or squealing noises, be sure and have your brakes inspected. (Some noises are not necessarily an indication that your brakes need replacing, so don’t worry.)
Here are the features of a FREE brake check at Jeffrey’s:
- We pull all 4 wheels off
- We inspect all hydraulics, fluid, and hardware.
- We offer a complimentary vehicle inspection to diagnose any other safety issues (check all your belts, hoses and fluids)
- One of our ASE certified technicians will test drive your vehicle
- We will then offer you a full explanation of your brakes, offering recommendations if necessary (we’ll even take you to the back and show you what we mean)
After the brake inspection is complete, you’ll receive 1 of 3 results:
- A good report indicating that your brakes are in satisfactory condition,
- A detailed explanation of the longevity of your current brake system, indicating how much wear you have remaining (anything below 20-30% will need repairs to be safe)
- A clear estimate of the cost of parts and labor to repair your brake system so you’ll leave safe on the road!
If you regularly run car-pool for several kids after school, a brake check provides peace of mind.
If you’re daughter likes to drive around with her friends on the weekend in Fort Worth, a brake check ensures she’s safe.
If you’re vehicle regular hauls heavy loads or travels extensively for work, a brake check means there won’t be any scary surprises in inclement weather.
At Jeffrey’s, our job is to keep you safe! Click the button below to set up your appointment today for your FREE brake check.
How to Find a Car Mechanic in Fort Worth – Part 1
By · Comments
People always ask, “how do I find a mechanic for my vehicle?”
If you are new to the Fort Worth area, or unsatisfied with the customer service at other automotive repair shops, we want you to choose Jeffrey’s Automotive.
In choosing your mechanic, one of the best tools for choosing a mechanic is reading reviews online.
There are plenty of sites to review a mechanic and while we may not get a perfect 5-star review every time, we stand confident that our customer reviews tell the story of the customer experience at Jeffrey’s. We can say all we want about our integrity, trustworthiness, and excellent customer service, but we encourage you to look at a few of the following sites for testimonials and reviews.
- Angie’s List - you must be a member to see the full reviews, but we’ve got solid reviews from our customers on this site (we love their tagline – “Reviews you can trust.”) Here’s a screenshot of the Angie’s List summary of Jeffrey’s Automotive (click to enlarge image):
- Google Place Page – for mechanics, an average 4-star rating is worth noting and something we’re proud of! While we get reviews from all kinds of people, it is clear that majority of our customers on this site find our service to be 5-star quality!
- Insider Pages – with over a dozen recent reviews giving us a 4-star average rating, we love the reviews from 2 ladies who we count as some of our favorite customers!
- Demandforce – our customers respond to an email we send, and we love our Demandforce reviews – currently over 300 reviews! And of those 300 reviews, 250 of them give us 5 stars. You can also view these Demandforce reviews on our Facebook page (please become a fan on Facebook, too). Then we love this bold statement that Demandforce puts on our page based on a questionnaire from customers:

- Customer Lobby – another 40+ reviews (all in the past 2 years) who give us an overall 5-star average rating! Check out what our recent customers are saying on Customer Lobby.
- Testimonials on our website – aggregating reviews from around the web along with handwritten survey results we receive back from happy customers, you’ll find over 400 testimonials from our customers (as of this post – we receive new ones each week!) Go to the page on our site and do a CTRL+F and look for a city name (or person’s name) and see what our customers are saying – perhaps you have a neighbor or friend who is already a happy Jeffrey’s customer.
We often say, “you know all those great mechanics you’ve been looking for? They all work here at Jeffrey’s Automotive!” We think our customers’ experiences back up this claim.

Noisy Brakes?
By · Comments
Looking around the internet, it’s common to see these questions about brakes:
- What could be the problem if my brakes are making a grinding noise?
- Are squealing brakes something that I need to get check right away or can I wait?
- The brakes have been making strange noises for several weeks. Will it hurt to wait a few more days?
- My friend just told me to turn up the radio to drown out the noisy brakes – anyone else do that? Is that smart?
Common questions? Sure they are.
If these are your concerns, it’s time for a brake check. Ignoring these warning signs can result in costly brake component replacement.
Right now, Jeffrey’s Automotive is offering a FREE BRAKE CHECK. So bring your vehicle in and let us tell you what’s going on. And turn down that radio!
See Part 1: A/C Part 1: Sweating Ain’t Cool – Optimizing Your Car’s Air Conditioning

After an extremely hot summer, isn’t it funny how us in the Fort Worth area get excited about “cooler” temperatures! But let’s think about this: other than today’s temporary “cold front”, we’re still looking at mid-90′s all next week!
Of course we can be thrilled about 90′s, but wouldn’t you rather be happy with your cool temperatures INSIDE your car? When you are driving around Keller, North Richland Hills or Southlake, if you’re A/C is not helping you stay cool on the inside, then it’s time to have Jeffrey’s look at your car’s air conditioning system!
